Testimonials

“Operating a world-renowned training center catering to the needs of some of the world’s finest athletes requires the highest levels of commitment and expertise on a number of fronts, and this requirement certainly extends to the sports massage therapy component. I have had a myriad of opportunities to experience Geoffrey’s work firsthand with our visiting athletes, whether they were Olympic-level swimmers from Japan, national team members from Athletics Canada, or top athletes from the Australian Institute of Sport. In said experience, I always found his knowledge base to be extensive, his hands-on experience with athletes unquestionable, and his ability to build rapport and trust (vital to his profession, in my opinion) most admirable.

Perhaps the greatest testament to Geoffrey’s capabilities lies in the fact that I typically receive requests from visiting athletes to work with him again when here for training camps. I believe there can be no other statement regarding his abilities that supersedes this one in importance. His reputation amongst the athletes we serve, all of who’ve clearly had the opportunity to work with therapists at the highest levels, is beyond reproach.

I can state without reservation that Geoffrey has proven himself to be an integral part of the support system infrastructure that has been so vital to the success of our Olympic Training Site. I can only assume that my positive experience with him will be echoed in your own, should you have an opportunity to work with him.”

Geoffrey I can’t even describe the orders-of-magnitude better everything is today!  I can almost imagine running again some time in my future, but I’m not taking running shoes with me on this trip, so it will be July

“In my 11 years of practicing massage and being somewhat of a workshop junky, I have to say this was one of the best workshops I’ve been to. Geoffrey was able to articulate and demonstrate Erik Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques with great clarity. He wasn’t just parroting Erik’s work but fully understood the material and helped us to assess postural imbalances and then apply the techniques as appropriate. I’ve already started to incorporate the work and have seen some very good results with my clients. I look forward to studying the videos and taking more workshops and feel this work is on the “cutting edge” of massage therapy.”

I travel constantly as a professional athlete and have had the opportunity to work with some of the best massage therapists all over the country.  I was fortunate to meet Geoffrey Bishop from Stay Tuned a few years back on one of my annual high altitude trips to Flagstaff, Arizona for training.
I was very impressed with his professional demeanor along with his extensive knowledge and applied skill.  My altitude trips have become an important part of my training cycle and my training regiment is very disciplined, focused and challenging.  I push my body to It’s limits and in turn must keep it finely tuned as to avoid any type of injury or down time.  In my line of work as a professional runner, time is money (literally), so the less time I have to spend with aches, pains and injury the better.
It is my job to out perform the best athletes in the world so it is imperative that I work with coaches and physical therapists who have the skill and knowledge to help me perform at my best.  Geoffrey has such great understanding of massage especially Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, but more importantly he is great at applying these techniques effectively.  I appreciate the time he takes before each visit to discuss what problems I may be having in detail and also discuss what massage techniques did or did not work to evolve our sessions and make them even more effective.  I’ve referred him to many athletes since working with him.  As a running purist I live for old fashioned discipline and hard work to succeed.  I’m happy to be able to work with trustworthy people like Geoffrey who not only respect my ideals, but also embrace them.
If your in Flagstaff and need a tune up to run fast, call the best in town at Stay Tuned.

“I learned more about practical application of bodywork in Geoffrey’s Myoskeletal class than I did in 8 months of massage school.”

“When you are trying to manage training for three sports, working with a therapist who understands how the body is supposed to work is essential. The better aligned your body, the more effectively you can manage the physical load that comes from recruiting three very different motor patterns. Geoffrey is able to draw on his skills in the areas of myoskeletal alignment, active isolated stretching, myofascial release, and traditional soft-tissue manipulation when evaluating the best way to treat someone. With so many different tools to utilize, Geoffrey is never limited in his treatment options. He can give an athlete the best of several options, rather than trying to do the best possible job with a single, potentially ineffective or non-optimal, treatment methodology. Every athlete is an individual, with unique needs for peak performance. Geoffrey’s wide ranging skill-set allows him to offer the right option – and in some cases, right options – to keep many athletes, including myself, functioning at the highest level.”

“After a deep tissue/sports massage and the quick muscle stimulation techniques with Geoffrey, my legs don’t feel flat.  I can do a workout that same evening and feel great.”
